...that's the attitude with which Barbershoppers like to greet their audience - and when could it be more appropriate than at a concert by Erster Kölner Barbershop Chor in the traditional Senftöpfchen theater in Cologne's old town? After all, these events are a long-standing, cherished practice, and the chorus was once again able to enjoy a sold-out house this year. The audience enjoyed a varied program, to which the guest choir “Klangfang” also contributed with some pop arrangements. After the anthem “Du bess der Chor” to the tune of Highland Cathedral, everyone went into the afterglow with beaming smiles.
“We are very grateful that we are always welcomed back to this wonderful theater - a place where music and cabaret can be experienced in a unique atmosphere,” said Jan Zähler, Chairman of the Board, summing up the evening.
Two years ago, Matthias Neuburger's many years of conducting the chorus came to an end at the Senftöpfchen theater, and since then he has joined the tenor section whenever possible. This year, the chorus said goodbye to Andrea Figallo, who directed the chorus with great musical expertise, experience and patience and will continue to offer valuable support as a coach in the future. However, the singers will now once again be led by fellow members: Fabian Prolingheuer as “Musical Director”, together with Stephan Hammes and Thomas Wardin as “Assistant Directors” form a chorus management team that aims to give the chorus fresh impetus and even more momentum.
After this successful start into 2025, the chorus is looking forward to upcoming performances and further development as a Barbershop men's chorus.

A sold-out house and a great atmosphere - it really was a brilliant evening for the barbershop singers from "Düssharmonie" and "MissHarmony". The highlight was the song they performed together - also the motto of the concert - "What a wonderful world".
The Barberellas are looking for a new musical director with immediate effect.
At the Barbershop Music Festival many got to know our wonderful musical director Sebastian Dahmen, who unfortunately had to quit due to relocation and private reasons.
We are looking for a new bass singer!
What a breathtaking evening: On January 8, the EKBC was finally able to once again thrill the audience in the sold-out Senftöpfchen! With old and new pieces and two guest quartets, the "boys" offered a varied program ranging from the greatest ambition to hullabaloo - just like the chorus has been known and appreciated for decades.
